The Radio Workshop series is a complete 7-week course on radio and podcasting, culminating in the creation of a new show to be broadcasted on Refuge Worldwide. This course is aimed at people with some experience or significant interest in DJing, music, sound, or broadcasting.
With the help of professional experts with years of experience in the radio industry, the students will dive into all the aspects of creating a successful radio show or podcast from radio history, concept development, interview, and research techniques, storytelling, sound design and composition, and technical recording, mixing and editing.
The students will be given the tools to find their own voice and concept, so as to bring their own artistic and creative identity into their radio show.
The experts are widely recognized in the music, radio, and broadcasting industry, from BBC Radio veteran Marie Anne Hobbs, to Lost and Sound podcast Paul Hanford, Grammy & Peabody award-winning composer Benbrick, DJ & radio host Juba, Brazilian DJ, producer & curator Folly Ghost, AIR podcast host Emma Robertson, and OML team member Vio PRG.

This course has a limited number of places due to the high demand and we sadly can't guarantee that everyone who applies will get a place. We prioritise giving spaces to members of marginalised groups, and those who would otherwise lack access to musical education.
