This free course introduces every aspect of creating your own music and showing it to the world. Running for 8 months, the weekly sessions teach the fundamentals of music theory, equalization, compression, synthesis, and sampling among many other key techniques and technical skills. Other workshops look at making your music public through streaming and broadcasting, as well as giving advice on promoting and sharing your work through a professional release. The weekly workshops will be accompanied by field trips to professional studios such as Kaiku Studio and Catalyst music school located in Funkhaus. You’ll also have access to our workspace for several hours per week to develop your musical creations, accompanied by an experienced mentor from the OML team.

Read before applying

This course has a limited number of places due to the high demand and we sadly can't guarantee that everyone who applies will get a place. We prioritise giving spaces to members of marginalised groups and those who otherwise lack access to musical education.
