Apply for a workshop series on Max & Pure Data: Interactive Audio for Musicians and Artists

We’re excited to offer a short course on Max & Pure Data: Interactive audio for musicians and artists.

Max/MSP and Pure Data are powerful and accessible visual programming languages that enable musicians and artists to create interactive installations, custom instruments, synths, effects pedals, live performance tools, and more. Over three sessions, participants will acquire better knowledge to create patches capable of MIDI output and audio generation. We will mainly use PlugData, a powerful free and open-source fork of Pure Data. However, participants can also follow along using Max/MSP.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, this workshop will adapt to your level. The sessions will take place on July 16, 23 and 30, from 18:30 - 20:30, on the last floor (Pavilion) of the Refugio café. The sessions will build up on one another, so please make sure that you are available on all three dates before you apply.

This workshop is taught by Simon Hill. Simon is an artist, designer, and engineer from Paris, specialized in sonic interaction design and audio software development. With a background in sound engineering and coding, he creates interactive compositions, installations, and electronic instruments. He works as a designer and coder for FL Studio Mobile and co-founded Ovaom, an audio gaming startup for children. Past projects include interactive music composing for the Paris Philharmonie des Enfants and custom live controllers for musicians.

Applications are open until 23:59h, June 30.
